يهدف البحث إلى إيضاح مفهوم ومظاهر الخيال في التصوير الإسلامي، وهل كان للمصور خيال في موضوعاته التصويرية، وما هي العوامل التي أثرت على هذا الخيال في أعماله، وماهية الدلالة اللغوية للخيال، وأيضاً تصنيفات الخيال التي ظهرت في التصوير، وكذلك مظاهره، وأهميته بالإضافة إلى توضيح دور المعتقد الديني وأثره على خيال المصور المسلم، وهل كان لدى المصور خيال إبداعي أم لا؟ وهذه مجموعة من التساؤلات سوف نحاول الكشف عنها في طيات وثنايا هذا البحث.
