سلطت الورقة الضوء على دروس مراد وهبه في التقدم. واستعرضت الورقة الأسباب التي ارجع اليها مراد وهبه سبب تقدم الغرب، وهي العلمانية، ونظرية العقد الاجتماعي، والتنوير، والليبرالية. كما استعرضت أثر فكر مراد وهبه على بعض المفكرون المصريون وانقسامهم بين مؤيد لأفكاره ومعارض لها. وأشارت الورقة إلى واقع توافر أسباب التقدم في مصر مؤكدة على أن العلمانية في مصر في حالة اغتيال، إما معنويا، وإما جسديا وسبب ذلك مردود إلى حركة الأخوان المسلمين، وإن الليبرالية تم بترها في مصر قبل ثورة 1952، بينما تحتاج الديمقراطية إلى وقت طويل، حتى تفهم كما فهمها مراد وهبة في آخر عبارة في كتابه \"الديمقراطية إذن حالة ذهنية خاصة بأسلوب رؤيتنا للكون، وقد تتحول إلى حالة سياسية ولكن بشرط أن تكون مرهونة بحالة ذهنية\" كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
