Overview
Within these philosophical branches the age of enlightenment is one of the most influential periods. The project of Enlightenment which required and which should have aimed at the development of entire human race, remains incomplete without the inclusion of religion in its entirety. If boundaries of the reason are pushed to the edges, it might lead one to take a glimpse into the morality as a phenomenon but it cannot bring down the falsities which have been damaging the human progress nearly forever. Iqbal here expresses anguish over the priests, as they have hijacked the real Islam and reproduced a distorted and mutated version of the Islam before the world.
