Overview
During the first week, he trained at the pool used by Olympic gold medalist Ian Thorpe, and then he competed at the South Pacific Splash Swimming Tournament at the Sydney International Aquatic Center, the swimming venue at the 2000 Summer Games. At the two-day swimming competition, Cahill saw his name and lane assignment light up on the screen the way it does at the Olympics.
