يتناول الكتاب مذكرات طبيب في زمن الحصار» (بيروت 1982) للكاتب الدكتور فايز رشيد، أما قصة أحداث هذا الكتاب فتتلخص فيما يلي : يقول الدكتور فايز رشيد : أوجعتني حدود الافتراش للعقل والقلب، تلك المعاناة الماثلة أمامي حتى اللحظة في عيون الأطفال والنساء والشيوخ والعديد من الشباب الجرحى من ذوي الإصابات المختلفة ممن رأيتهم رؤية العين، بفعل البشاعة في الجرائم والمذابح والاعتداءات, كان لا بد من التعبير عن هذه المعاناة ونقلها إلى القراء، وهكذا ولدت فكرة الكتاب.
