يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن أن التصوف بحر عميق يضم أسرارا كثيرة وعلى من يركبه عليه التزود بما يعنيه على الخوض من أجل الوصول الى الحقيقة التي يهدف اليها ولا أقول إني بلغت قمة التزود بالمعين ولكن استطعت أن أقف أمام بعض التيارات وقد حاول المؤلف معرفة الجوانب المحيطة بهذا العلم من خلال الابحار في سفينة ربانها الأمام القشيري الذي يعد شيخ عصره في التصوف في أهل خراسان فبدأ بدراسة الجوانب الاجتماعية والسياسية والثقافية في حياته ومن ثم الاطلاع على أهم تعاليمه ومبادئه التي رسمها لنفسه ولمن جاء من بعده.
