يتناول كتاب (شاعر ملك) والذي قام بتأليفه علي الجارم في حوالي (87) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (ضياع ملك الأندلس) الكتاب يتناول قصة حكاية ملك من أعظم ملوك الأندلس، في عهد ملوك الطوائف من خلال حياة \"المعتمد بن عباد\" ملك إشبيلية، ذلك الملك الذي حكم بلاده بالحزم والقوة والذكاء، وملك قلوب الأندلسيين بلينه ورفقه، بداية بعهد أبوه المعتضد مرورا بعهد ابنه المعتمد نهاية بهزيمته على يد ابن تاشفين ونفيه للمغرب، وما كان في ذلك الزمان من دسائس ومؤامرات وتحالفات حتى مع القشتاليين لتحقيق مكاسب سلطوية.
