هذا المذكرات الرائعة تحكي في أكثرها قصة جهاد عبد الرحمن عزمي منذ ترك دراسة الطب في لندن لنصرة مسلمي ألبانيا عندما تعرضوا لمذابح دموية قبل بدء الحرب العالمية الأولى ثم ذهابه من مصر عبر الصحراء الغربية في رحلة محفوفة بالمخاطر ليقاتل دفاعا عن الليبيين تحت راية الدولة العثمانية ثم نضاله في الجامعة العربية من أجل استقلال ليبيا ووحدتها وانتهاء بذهاب ضابط أرعن من مجلس قيادة ثورة يوليو من أجل إجباره على الاستقالة.
