يسلط المؤلف (ج. برونوفسكي) الضوء في هذا الكتاب حول فهم الطبيعة الإنسانية وفهم الوضع الإنساني ضمن إطار الطبيعة. فالكتاب غير مرتبط بزمن محدد بدءا وانتهاء فقارئ الكتاب يستطيع أن يفعل ما لا يستطيعه المشاهد كأن يتوقف عن القراءة، ويفكر فيما قرأ ويعود إلى صفحات سابقة ويعيد قراءة نقاش ما ثم يقارن حقيقة أو واقعة معينة بأخرى، وبشكل عام بوسعه تفهم تفاصيل الأدلة دون أن يضيع عليه ذلك متابعة الفكرة. إن محتوى هذه المقالات أو الأحاديث أوسع في الحقيقة من حقل العلم الرحب، ولا يمكن أن توجد فسلفة كما لا يمكن أن يوجد علم يستحق أن يسمى كذلك، دون الإنسانية.
