يقدم لنا الدكتور عبد الله المصري كتاب مادة \"الهارموني التقليدي\" ويأتي ذلك بعد خبرته التعليمية لهذه المادة لمدة اجتازت عشريت عاما، اختبر بها سيكولوجية الطالب العربي البعيد بثقافته الموسيقية عن هذه المادة، وبناء على ذلك صاغ الكتاب بدقة عالية من حيث وسائل التوضيح المبسطة معتمدا الرسومات والجداول الموضحة مبتعدا عن استعراضات حشو الكتاب بنماذج موسيقية يصعب على الطالب فهمها في مراحل دراسته الأولى. واكتفى بالجزء الدياتوني لهذه المادة مما يتناسب مع المحتوى الدراسي لمقررات الهارموني (في ثلاث مقررات) في كلية التربية الأساسية قسم الموسيقى في الكويت.
