هذا الكتاب يضم المقالات التي كتبها الكاتب عن العروض المسرحية وعن أهم تجارب المسرح السوري ومهرجاناته منذ عام 1970 حتى عام 2003، ملاحقا تطور وتغير بنية العروض المسرحية وتغير الفكر الفلسفي الكامن وراء هذه العروض ويكشف التنوع الكبير الذي ظهر عليه المسرح السوري خلال ثلث قرن. فهو إذن صورة عن النشاط المسرحي السوري وعن التيارات الفكرية المتعددة التي كان النقاد يستندون إليها فيما يكتبون. وهي تيارات متصارعة. إنه كتاب توثيقي بقدر ما هو كتاب عن فلسفة النقد السوري خلال ثلث قرن هذا.
