يتناول الكتاب حيث كانت الاشتراكية تنخر من داخلها لتنهار قبل نهاية القرن العشرين، وإذا جري الحديث عن <<نهاية المنهج>> بانتصار الرأسمالية النهائي، فقد ظهر أن الرأسمالية تعاني من مرض عُضال فرض نشوب أزمة عميقة سنة 2008، ومن ثم إذا كانت الرأسمالية قد سادت في كل العالم فقد مالت إلي نشوء تعددية قطبية، لكن ذلك الذي لم يتبلور بعد، وربما لن يتبلور حقيقة، كان الغلاف لتراكم مالي هائل بات يشكل مرضا عضالا، لأنه خرج عن التوظيف في القطاعات المنتِجة، نتيجةَ إشباعها، وبات يبحث عن مجالات توظيف خارج الاقتصاد الحقيقي. وكل نشاط يقوم علي المال مقابل المال هو انحراف نحو المضاربة، و<<التراكم المالي السريع>>، أي التضخم المالي.
