5linx Holdings Inc
You won't see 5LINX stores popping up anytime soon, but the telecommunications company is still a fast growing enterprise. Relying on a network of independent marketing representatives to sell its products (similar to the model employed by Mary Kay), 5LINX provides an array of telecommunications products and services. Among these are cellular phones and plans from major US carriers; satellite TV service from DISH Network and DIRECTV; and broadband Internet and home security services. Representatives also sell GLOBALINX VoIP services for residential and business customers; a subsidiary of 5LINX, GLOBALINX products include Wi-Fi phones and digital phone services.
Protester stands up for naked truth
Simon Oosterman, 24, arrived at Auckland's District Court naked - but he got dressed before he entered the courtroom Thursday. When Oosterman was stopped by police during the naked bike ride, other riders covered the lower parts of their bodies to avoid arrest. Oosterman and three supporters - two men and a woman - stood naked outside the courthouse Thursday holding a banner reading: \"Stop indecent exposure to vehicle emissions.\"
Weather, injuries take early toll on \D' line With Corey Simon out, too, the group shrinks precipitously
It was not serious enough that Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid put out a call for big bodies willing to serve as cannon fodder in his training camp, but a combination of injuries, dehydration and the excused absence of [Corey Simon] left the Birds with a light pool of defensive linemen Sunday afternoon at Lehigh University. Simon could return as soon as today. Reid and other Eagles sources insist his absence is unrelated to his desire to negotiate a contract extension. Simon reported to camp on time on Friday. His excused absence to handle a \"personal\" matter was announced Saturday. Changing colors: Trott's 54, the car wash Jeremiah Trotter owns in Cherry Hill, N.J., will get some new coats of paint this week. The car wash is burgundy and gold, the colors of Trotter's former team, the Washington Redskins. It will be repainted in the Eagles' green, black and silver. The business could use a partial name revision, too, because 54 -- the number Trotter wore in Washington and earlier in his career with the Eagles -- belongs to fellow linebacker Nate Wayne. Trotter is wearing No. 51.
Eagles name Simon franchise player; Mitchell won't shut up
He will turn 28 and also becomes an unrestricted free agent March 2, but the chance of other teams bidding for his services greatly decreased because of the Eagles' decision. Under the NFL's franchise tag rules, the Eagles now have seven days to match any contract offer [Corey Simon] receives from another team during the free-agency period. If they choose not to match the offer, the Eagles would receive two first-round draft choices as compensation for losing Simon. Simon is the first Eagles player to receive the franchise tag since linebacker Jeremiah Trotter in 2002. Trotter and his agent fought the Eagles' decision, and the team eventually removed the franchise tag, allowing the linebacker to sign with the Washington Redskins. Simon, through a team spokesman, declined to comment on the Eagles' decision on Thursday night, and [Roosevelt Barnes] did not return a phone call. A league source said Simon was not upset by the decision.
Reid on Eagles: 'We'll get over this'
[Tom Heckert] estimated that the Eagles would have 10 picks in the draft, which is scheduled for April 23 and 24. The top two will be the 31st and the 35th. [Jeremiah Trotter] is one of 13 Eagles free agents. All are unrestricted, with the exception of running back Brian Westbrook. Because Westbrook is a restricted free agent, the Eagles would have the opportunity to match any offer another team made to him. Heckert said the Eagles are likely to use one of their draft picks to pluck a player from a running-back class that is filled with talent. They will probably draft a bigger back to complement Westbrook's talents.
Steely demeanor; Andy Reid keeps everything, everybody under control
As anyone who watches NFL Films knows, [Andy Reid] looked out for [Brett Favre], too. There is one clip in which Reid is shown covering up for a Favre mistake and taking the heat from Mike Holmgren. Afterward, Favre says, \"I love you, Andy,\" wearing that troublemaker grin. And Reid says, \"I know.\" Reid has credited LaVell Edwards, his coach at Brigham Young, with steering him toward the coaching profession. He said Wednesday that as he began his senior year at BYU, in 1981, Edwards broached the subject. One year later, Reid was a graduate assistant. Corey Simon, the massive defensive tackle whom Reid drafted on the first round in 2000, may be playing his last game as an Eagle Sunday. His contract is up, and whether the club will re-sign him remains uncertain. But he says Reid's work ethic has rubbed off on the Birds.
