North Slope's Food And Brews Develop A Following
2015
The Back Mountain's first brew pub took home two silver medals at the U.S. Open Beer Championship, where breweries throughout the world compete in several categories in a blind judging competition. North Slope won the awards for Hoppie Cukes in the vegetable beer category, and Mountaineer Bier - named for the Dallas High School mascot - in the altbier (a German style) category. The sandwiches are made with bread from the Bakehouse in Kingston. Choices include their signature pub burger, or the North Slope porky melt with sausage from Orchards Farm Market in Clarks Summit which is seasoned in-house, served on grilled rye bread with melted sharp Cheddar and homemade pickles. Or there's the French toast chicken sandwich, with ham, chicken and swiss on bread battered in egg and grilled served on the Bakehouse pain de campagne, [Bailey Cooper] said. North Slope also serves wine from Nimble Hill Winery in Tunkhannock. The North Slope brews are also available at Cooper's Seafood in Scranton and Colarusso's Coal Fired Pizza in Dickson City.

1994
Naturally, the supporters of the will submitted for probate contended that it was \"signed and sealed\" completely voluntarily by the dearly departed testator. The main method of affixing a seal to back up a signature was with \"sealing wax.\" But it was also permissible to stick on a \"wafer\" - a circular do-hickey that looked like a seal, sort of. \"Now, sir, upon your solemn oath, you saw the testator sign this will - he signed it in his bed - at his request you signed it as a subscribing witness - you saw him seal it - it was with red wax he sealed it - a piece of wax about three inches long - he lit the wax with a piece of candle which you procured from a cupboard - you lit the candle with a match which you found on a mantel-shelf?
