يضم هذا القاموس معلومات لغوية ثمينة عن الأمثال الشعبية التي شاعت على ألسنة العوام في العراق (دار السلام) مرتبة بحسب حروف المعجم على بدايات الأمثال من الألف إلى الياء وهو من تأليف \"عبد اللطيف ثنيان\" الذي كان من الباحثيين المتتبعين ومن المعنيين بقضايا اللغة والتاريخ وكانت له تعقيبات على بعض المسائل اللغوية والتاريخية؛ كما كان له ولع وإهتمام بقضايا الموروثات الشعبية الأدبية من قبيل الأمثلة العامية التي يتداولها العامة في بغداد وبعض المحافظات.
