الاستنتاجات النهائية في هذا الكتاب التي خرج بها المؤلف أوضحت بأن المتنبي كان يتربع على عرش القرن الرابع الهجري شعريا وأفضل شاعر يستطيع أن يؤرخ لأنه الأبصر بالأحداث والأسمع صوتا والاقدر شهرة ولهذا جاز له وجاز لنا ان نعده مؤرخا في نهاية المطاف وأرخ المتنبي الحياة السياسية في عصره كذلك أرخ المعارك الحربية التي عاصرها في حياته واستعمل المتنبي (علم النسب) وهو أوسع أبواب التاريخ في شعره على نحو ملحوظ وأصر على توثيق أسماء الأشخاص لتحقيق المهمة التاريخية بل ذهب إلى أبعد من ذلك فرسم شجرة النسب لبعض محدد ومن هذه النتائج المبينة أعلاه تستطيع القول بثقة أن شعر المتنبي يعد وثيقة مهمة في تاريخ القرن الرابع الهجري.
