Este artículo desarrolla un acercamiento a la poesía de la escritora ecuatoriana Ivonne Gordon Vailakis, con énfasis en su antología Manzanilla del insomnio (2002). El autor presta atención al uso de palabras e imágenes provenientes del hebreo; ve la poesía de Gordon como un acercamiento al tema de la transgresión de fronteras lingüísticas y culturales partiendo del concepto de la “zona de contacto” empleado por Mary Louise Pratt. El texto examina el estatus marginal de la voz poética en esta colección de poemas de Gordon Vailakis.
