تناول البحث مسألة الإحساس بالانكسار النفسي جراء العوامل الحربية والاقتصادية، فضلا عوامل الهرم والشيخوخة وما يترتب على ذلك من تبعات اجتماعية تزيد في انكساره وخذلانه، ومحاولة الشعراء تجاوز ذلك الانكسار بالتغني بخوض أحداث تلك الحروب وعوامل الصمود فيها التي تخفف من وطأة الشعور بالحزن والضعف، أو محاولة تخفيف أثر الجانب الاقتصادي المتردي وانعكاساته الاجتماعية عليه من خلال مقاومة عوامله وأسبابه بالطرق الإقناعية والقهرية، أو محاولة تخفيف أثر الشيخوخة على نفسه من خلال ما يبث من الشكوى التي تزيل توتره واضطرابه النفسي.
