Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer outside the Supreme Court warned Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and by extension Senate Republicans, that they “will pay the price” if they make the “awful decision” of ruling in favor of a Louisiana law only allowing abortions to be performed by physicians with admitting privileges at hospitals. At a standing-room-only presidential forum in New Hampshire last month, Sen. Bernie Sanders promised to arrive at the White House having already vetted hundreds of “good, young legal minds” for expected vacancies, mirroring in part candidate Trump’s release of a short list of Supreme Court nominees.
