Overview
Even in such instances, mental illness makes it difficult for afflicted probationers to comply with court orders. According to Veysey (1996), \"if community supervision staff adhere to rigid sanctions for technical violations with regard to treatment compliance, special-needs clients - particularly those with mental illness - are likely to fail\" (p. 158).
