يتحدث المؤلف (أبو بكر الصولي) في هذا الكتاب عن أخبار الشعراء وأشعارهم، وأشعار أولاد الخلفاء وأخبارهم، ثم أشعار سائر بني العباس وأشعار ولد أبي طالب وأشعار من بقى من بني هاشم، وقد رتب فيه المؤلف الشعراء المحدثين على حسب بيوتاتهم وأسرهم، فقد ذكر بيت اللاحقين، وبيت أشجع السلمي، وبيت أحمد بن يوسف، والقاسم بن صبيح. يقع الكتاب في حوالي (256) صفحة من القطع المتوسط.
