من أشهر كتب الأدب ومحاسن الشعر والشعراء وتراجمهم، جمع فيه مؤلفه أبو الحسن الباخرزي (المتوفى سنة 467 هـ) تراجم وأشعار عدد كبير من الفضلاء من مختلف العصور والمناطق، وجعله في سبعة أقسام، وهذه سياقتها : القسم الأول : في محاسن شعراء البدو والحجاز، القسم الثاني : في طبقات شعراء الشام وديار بكر، وأذربيجان، والجزيرة وسائر بلاد المغرب، القسم الثالث : في فضلاء العراق، القسم الرابع : في شعراء الري والجبال، وأصفهان، وفارس، وكرمان، القسم الخامس : في فضلاء جرجان واستراباد ودهستان وقومس و خوارزم، وما وراء النهر، القسم السادس : في شعراء خراسان، وقهستان، ویست، وسجستان وغزنة، القسم السابع : في طبقة من أئمة الأدب الذين لم يجر لهم في الشعر رسم.
