The California Department of Education is following in the footsteps of Texas by launching an official presence on iTunes U, a dedicated area within Apple Inc.'s iTunes store that offers free downloads of lectures, lab demos, and access to educational content from state agencies and nonprofit groups.

\"Many of the young people here don't realize what we have in the Inland Empire, and this is a way for the Chamber to bring it back on an annual basis,\" said Joe Stofa, volunteer for the Chamber and co- chairman for the festival. \"The heritage needs to be retained for the future of our young Americans.\" \"We put the event on because it represents the basic culture and heritage of the Cucamonga Valley,\" said Norm MacKenzie, president and CEO of the Chamber. \"It lets people see how wine is made, the way they did it many years ago.\" Of course, one of the focal points of the celebration will be the wine appreciation and brewery area, where visitors can try more than a dozen wines from the Joseph Filippi Winery and Vineyards and six to seven wines from the Galleano and Wine Taylor wineries.

Studio Elite owner dances days, dances nights

Aileen Lee, of Alta Loma, describes [Larina Chavez] as patient with her students. Lee should know, as Chavez is teaching Lee's daughter Taylor six different types of dances. After Lee lost her 14-year-old son to bone cancer three years ago, she said that his death inspired Chavez. \"I've gone though trials and tribulations with Aileen and her family,\" Chavez said. \"They have inspired me to go places and work with people like her son.\" In addition to her upcoming efforts with the City of Hope, Chavez continues to help those close to home offering a special scholarship program to high school students. As students that have a passion for dancing and otherwise cannot afford it, Chavez provides them with an alternative payment plan.

\"We realize some of these families may have language limitations and may not know what to do,\" said Maria Melo Bueno, regional communications program manager for the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region. \"We really want to go into these communities and help them be more resilient to any potential disasters.\" \"Sometimes people forget how easy building a disaster kit can be,\" said Melo Bueno. \"You can build a kit for $40 by buying stuff at a dollar store. It's easier than you think and it goes a long way.\" \"Come to find out, the resident thought the beeping meant it was working,\" [Nancy Ta] said. \"When we informed them of the Home Fire Campaign and that the smoke alarms were free and you don't have to deal with that beeping noise, they were very happy.\"
