كتاب طبقات الأمم يعني بأخبار الأمم، وسير الأجيال ويكشف عن أحوالها ومذاهبها، وهو من تأليف الفقيه المؤرخ القاضي أبي القاسم صاعد بن أحمد بن عبد الرحمن التغلبي المعروف بصاعد الأندلسي وقد كتب هذا الكتاب سنة 460هـ / 1068 م، عرض فيه لتواريخ الأمم معتمدا في أغلب ذلك على الروايات الشفوية ولقاء الشيوخ ومجاورة الأقران. ذهب فيه إلى أن الأمم السالفة كانت قبل تشعب الأمم وافتراق اللغات سبعا، وافترقت تلك الأمم السبع وتشعبت لغاتها وتباينت أديانها وهي تنقسم إلى طبقتين، طبقة عنيت بالعلوم وطبقة لم تعن بها.
