Overview
An evaluation the Arab Peace Initiative begins with some historical background, the substance of the Arab offer, & the Israeli response. Factors underlying the Initiative's formulation are identified. Three reasons for why this option, first put forth in 2002, finds currency now include the need to preserve the GCC boom, the Bush administration's failure to reach a peace settlement, & Iran's rise.
